Last Friday the CARES Act bill passed which enables hospice providers to perform face-to-face encounters via telehealth.  This rule compliments nicely with general telehealth use by any hospice team member wishing to see patients where appropriate from a safe distance, without the risk of exposing patients and hospice personnel to COVID-19.

Telehealth is mission-critical for hospice and Optum is here to help.

Last week, Optum released HIPAA-compliant telehealth technology to all its hospice partners – integrated into Optum’s existing Backline app.  Whether its telehealth, e-prescribing, or secure messaging to care teams, patients and families – just to name a few features – your patients and family members don’t need to register, download or install an app to receive secure texting or telehealth services from your hospice. One seamless app for your hospice, easy solutions for your patients.
